Research

Chameleon conducts interdisciplinary research on emerging issues in forensic anthropology, international human rights and humanitarian law. Our research focuses on forensic responses to mass violations of human rights and mass disasters, missing person and identification issues, NGO organisational dynamics and various taphonomic processes.

We specialise in the production of briefing packs for teams who are about to commence forensic and/or humanitarian operations. These packs provide invaluable information, including:

  • Historial and Political Background;
  • Legal Context;
  • Geographical Profiles;
  • Analysis of Media Coverage;
  • Summary of Previous Operations (as relevant).

Data Analysis

Chameleon provides the analysis and presentation of research data using Microsoft Excel and/or Access. We create databases to support the management of research inventories, for example osteological collections.

Lectures

Utilising individual skills sets, Chameleon provides lectures to Masters level students on a variety of topics, including:

  • Using the Internet for Research;
  • Project Management;
  • Oral Presentations.

Anthropological & Archaeological Fieldwork Resource

All members of the Chameleon team are experienced in the tools and techniques of forensic anthropology and the excavation and analysis of human remains, in both the humanitarian and archaeological context. For more information on this specialised area, please contact us.
